I get many many questions on what kind of Photos I need in order to Paint your Pet Perfectly. I am going to highlight the best tips here on Photographing Your Pet, but will Preface this Post by Proclaiming that I am no Pet Photographer (Pretty much no Prowess in that Precinct!), but I can Present what has worked for me for all my Past Paintings and Photographing my Pretty foster Puppies.

I’m sure there are many tutorials and instructions out there on the big ole WWW (world wide web), but it’s really simple. Getting those wiggle butts to just SIT STILL is the hardest part but I’m sure you know your pet well enough to know what gets their attention. For some it’s a toy but for most, it’s a yummy treat… hell, that gets my attention toooooo! Did someone say “treat”?

Okay, I’m back (now wiping tasty treat crumbs of the human variety from chin).

Like I said, in keeping it simple, just remember these 5 key points below on photographing your pet and you should take a good enough photo for me to create a MASTERPIECE painting of your fur-baby…no matter what color their fur is! Black fur is tough but the key is enough lighting and you’ll have no issues.
